Things, no. People, usually no. But of course there’s always exceptions, like when you become extremely close with someone, enough to consider them your best friend and care about them very much. Or even just someone who greatly influenced your life in some way. It’s hard to let go of people like that.
I suppose the same thing goes for “things”, I only have a problem letting go of something if it’s a one of a kind thing that holds a lot of emotional value for me.
